Om Han Hanumate Namah — meaning

ॐ हं हनुमते नमः

Oṁ Haṁ Hanumate Namaḥ

“Om, salutations to Hanuman.” “Haṁ” is the seed (bija) sound of Hanuman Ji.

Hanuman Ji — Bajrangbali, Pavanputra, Sankat Mochan — is the embodiment of strength, courage, wisdom and humble devotion to Shri Ram. The short mantra Om Han Hanumate Namah is one of the most widely chanted Hanuman mantras for courage, protection from fear and negativity, and success in difficult tasks.

नासै रोग हरै सब पीरा। जपत निरंतर हनुमत बीरा॥

— Hanuman Chalisa, Goswami Tulsidas

“All diseases and pains are destroyed when one chants the name of brave Hanuman continuously.” — the Chalisa itself praises continuous jap (japat nirantar).

Devotion

Hanuman Ji loves Ram Naam

Hanuman Ji is the greatest devotee of Shri Ram, and it is said that wherever Ram Naam is sung, Hanuman is present. That is why many devotees chant Jai Shri Ram or Shri Ram Jai Ram Jai Jai Ram to please Hanuman Ji, especially on Tuesdays and Saturdays. You can use our Ram Naam jap counter for that practice.

भूत पिसाच निकट नहिं आवै। महाबीर जब नाम सुनावै॥

— Hanuman Chalisa

“Ghosts and evil spirits do not come near when the name of Mahavir is recited.” Chanting his name removes fear and fills the heart with courage.
