Radha Naam

Why chant Radha Naam?

Shri Premanand Ji Maharaj of Vrindavan with folded hands
Shri Premanand Ji Maharaj of Vrindavan inspires millions of devotees to chant राधा राधा.

Shri Radha is the hladini shakti — the pleasure-giving energy — of Shri Krishna, and the very form of pure, selfless love. In the Braj tradition of Vrindavan and Barsana her name is considered the sweetest of all, and it is said that wherever राधा is sung, Krishna comes running.

Saints such as Shri Premanand Ji Maharaj teach that naam jap is the simplest and surest path in Kaliyug. You need no special place, no ritual and no money — only the Name, repeated with faith. Chant for peace, chant with surrender, or chant with pure love: every naam takes you closer.

“Naam hi sabse bada sahara hai. Jo naam mein jud gaya, woh kabhi akela nahi rehta.”

— Shri Premanand Ji Maharaj
Scripture

Naam jap: the easy path of Kaliyug

In Satya Yuga, Treta Yuga and Dvapara Yuga people performed years of intense meditation, strict rituals and complex mantra vidhi. The scriptures say that in Kaliyug the mind is restless, life is short and distractions are many — so God made the path simple: chant the Name. Whether it is Radha Radha, Hare Krishna, Om Namah Shivaya or any name of God you feel connected to, the Name alone carries you across.

कृते यद्ध्यायतो विष्णुं त्रेतायां यजतो मखैः।
द्वापरे परिचर्यायां कलौ तद्धरिकीर्तनात्॥

kṛte yad dhyāyato viṣṇuṁ tretāyāṁ yajato makhaiḥ · dvāpare paricaryāyāṁ kalau tad dhari-kīrtanāt

What was attained in Satya Yuga by meditating on Vishnu, in Treta by performing yajnas and in Dvapara by temple worship, is attained in Kali Yuga simply by chanting the names of Hari.

Srimad Bhagavatam 12.3.52

Even in Kaliyug, the saints say, one who chants for material wishes sees those wishes fulfilled; one who chants with surrender finds peace; and one who chants with pure love attains the Lord. That is why regular naam jap is so important in daily life — and why keeping count helps you stay consistent.

Basics

What is a jap counter?

A jap counter is anything that counts how many times you chant a mantra or a name of God. Traditionally this is a jap mala of 108 beads — of Tulsi for Radha–Krishna and Vishnu, of Rudraksha for Shiva — and each bead marks one repetition. There are also small hand-held digital tally counters.

It is not always possible to carry a mala to the office, on a train or everywhere you go. But almost everyone carries a phone. This online Radha jap counter is the digital form of your mala: whether you want to chant 108 times or one lakh times, you can count every naam, anywhere, and see your daily, weekly and lifetime progress.

Your count is saved even if you refresh the page, close the browser or lose the internet. Only the Reset button clears the current mala.

From 1 crore to 13 crore

Benefits of naam jap by chant count

The Name of God is not only devotion — it is a power. Saints describe how the consciousness of a devotee changes as the count of naam grows, from one crore (10 million) up to thirteen crore, the highest number mentioned in the scriptures. The descriptions below are summarised from the satsang of saints; they are shared with faith, not as a promise.

  1. 1 Cr
1 crore naam — The body is purified

Saints say that one crore naam washes away past sins, weakens rajo-guna and tamo-guna (passion and ignorance) and establishes pure sattva (goodness). The seeds of future sin are burnt, and the devotee gains the strength to bear illness and hardship.

  2. 2 Cr
2 crore naam — Lack and poverty end

The craving for wealth fades. God fulfils desires in two ways — by removing the desire, or by giving more than is needed so that desire itself ends. Sorrow gives way to favourable circumstances.

  3. 3 Cr
3 crore naam — The impossible becomes possible

The heart becomes pure. Habits that once seemed impossible to leave, such as anger, begin to drop away, and difficult tasks become easy. The world starts looking at the devotee with the love of a brother.

  4. 4 Cr
4 crore naam — The heart fills with bliss

The seat of happiness — the heart — is purified and divine bliss arises. Respect and insult, gain and loss, joy and sorrow no longer shake the mind, and fear loses its grip.

  5. 5 Cr
5 crore naam — Pure knowledge dawns

The meaning of the scriptures begins to flow through the devotee's speech. Saints describe that the sincere wishes of such a devotee are fulfilled and that even those who opposed them bow with respect.

  6. 6 Cr
6 crore naam — The six inner enemies are conquered

Lust, anger, greed, attachment, ego and envy are overcome. The devotee may see deities and great souls in dreams and lives in steady bliss — yet does not waste this power on small worldly ends, using it only to reach God.

  7. 7 Cr
7 crore naam — Desire becomes pure

No attraction in the three worlds can pull the devotee away. However great the hardship or temptation, they will not give up the Name of God.

  8. 8 Cr
8 crore naam — The fear of death ends

Untimely death is averted and a full life is lived in sadhana. The devotee rests in the Self and no longer identifies with the body.

  9. 9 Cr
9 crore naam — The Ishta Devata appears

Dharma becomes perfectly pure and the deity of the Name reveals Themselves in form. Chant Ram, and Shri Ram appears; chant Radha, and Shri Radha Rani appears.

  10. 10 Cr
10 crore naam — Karma is burnt

Accumulated and new karma are burnt away and the devotee moves toward liberation and divine realisation, full of immense joy and free from rebirth.

  11. 11 Cr
11 crore naam — Nothing remains to be gained

All attainments — worldly, spiritual and yogic — stand ready. The divine lilas of Gokul, Ayodhya or Kashi that the devotee longs for manifest before them.

  12. 12 Cr
12 crore naam — God is bound by love

Such a treasure of love is gathered that, as the saints say, God Himself follows the devotee.

  13. 13 Cr
13 crore naam — Able to uplift others

The devotee becomes so powerful through the Name that they can grant liberation even to a sinner. Having crossed the ocean of samsara, they help others cross. The scriptures mention no count beyond thirteen crore.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What is the best time to do Radha Naam Jap?

The most auspicious times are Brahma Muhurta (about 90 minutes before sunrise), sunset and just before sleep. But you can chant Radha Naam at any time — while walking, cooking or travelling — with a pure heart. Consistency matters more than timing.

How many malas of Radha Naam should I chant daily?

Start with one mala (108 naam) a day. As your practice grows you can increase to 3, 5, 11 or 16 malas. Quality of devotion is more important than quantity — even one sincere mala chanted with love is precious. Set your number as the daily goal in Settings.

Can I chant Radha Naam without initiation (diksha)?

Yes. Radha Naam is open to every sincere seeker. The divine Name is beyond formalities and welcomes all loving hearts — simply chant with faith, love and sincerity.

Will my jap count be saved on this website?

Yes. Your counts, malas, streak and settings are saved automatically in your browser on this device, even if you refresh or close the page. Nothing is uploaded to any server. Use Settings → Backup to download a copy before you change phones or clear browser data.

Should I chant “Radha”, “Radhe Radhe” or “Shri Radha”?

All of these are the same holy Name. Many devotees in Vrindavan chant “Radha Radha”, greet each other with “Radhe Radhe” or add “Shri” out of respect. Choose the form your heart loves most and chant it steadily — each tap counts one naam.

How long does one mala of Radha Naam take?

Because “Radha” is a short name, one mala of 108 usually takes about 2 to 4 minutes, depending on your pace. The counter shows your speed (naam per minute) and session time as you chant.

Can I do mental jap (manasik jap) with this counter?

Yes. Whether you chant aloud, whisper or chant silently in the mind, simply tap once for each naam. Focus mode lets you tap anywhere on the screen so you do not have to look at the phone.

Does the jap counter work without internet? Can I install it?

Yes. After your first visit the counter works offline. On Android (Chrome) tap “Install the app” in the menu or “Add to Home screen”; on iPhone open the Share menu in Safari and choose “Add to Home Screen”.

Is this Radha Naam jap counter free?

Yes, it is completely free. There is no sign-up and no account — just open the page and start chanting.
